We understand the software and technology industry can be male dominant, which is why we continuously embrace the women in our workplace and focus on breaking the bias of gender stereotypes. We offer opportunities and guidance for women to explore what a career in tech would look like for them.

ACCESSIBILITY FOR ALL

Over one billion people have one or more accessibility needs, so ensuring our products are built with accessibility at the forefront is non-negotiable for us. In order to make sure we get this right, we have worked alongside the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) when developing our products to understand best practices.

We work with MySight Notts, a Nottingham based charity supporting people with vision loss.
Our software engineers are trained on accessibility by industry experts to continuously ensure our products meet the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level AA standards for desktop and mobile.
Over 1300 hours of development time has been invested in making People First accessible.

We also worked with My Sight Notts at the Software Manufacturing Day on 9th February at the Vineyard Conference Centre in Nottingham. The session provided an overview of the experience people who need a screen reader technology to access to the internet. This provided unique insights into how both iTrent and People First can be improved.

CHAMPIONING DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN THE WORKPLACE

From the Outset

Diversity and Inclusion are guiding principles that are championed at MHR from the start of all of our employees journey's with us. All employees have taken part in compulsory Diversity and Inclusion training and it is now included are part of the company induction.

In the training, we discuss what diversity is, why is is important to have it, what protected characteristics are, what are biases and stereotypes, how to be inclusive and MHR standards.

Inclusive Initiatives

Throughout the year we celebrate diversity in the workplace. Some of our recent and upcoming initiatives include Epilepsy Awareness Day, Mental Health Awareness Week and 'Thank You Day' supporting unsung heroes in the work place. These initiatives shine a light on the inclusive work culture we have at MHR and reflect our support for all our employees.
